The Loon Lake (LLPOA) and Deer Lake (DLPOA) Property Owners Associations will once again jointly sponsor the local community Chipper Day program.  The Chipper Day program is organized by Stevens County Solid Waste Department and provides an employee to routinely maintain, clear and stack the debris for the safe offloading of all trucks and trailers. 

The LLPOA and DLPOA would like to thank Stevens County Solid Waste Manager Kevin Dionas for his efforts and success in grant requests allowing the countywide Chipper Day events to continue in southern and central Stevens County. Kevin’s involvement in organizing the event and maintaining the Chipper Day site for the county and this community is greatly appreciated.  

Please consider the environmental benefit and lengthy Stevens County burn ban. Chipper Day is a great alternative to a burn pile or composting. Thank you to those who have used this valuable clean up event and please pass the word to those friends and neighbors who may not be aware of Chipper Day. 

Our volunteers who gladly assist in the off-loading of your debris. For your convenience the LLPOA will be posting Chipper Day signs in your neighborhood as a reminder. Here are the details:

Date: Saturday October 5, 2024

Time: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Location: Just North of Baldwins Lumber on Agar Road.

Cost: $10 for truck or trailer loads. (Proceeds support the Lake Associations)

Clean green only – no garbage or lumber.
