Springdale’s Park has added yet another fun activity for all and it has been a welcome addition during recent 100-degree days. A new large splash pad offers 12 tall fountains dancing up with ‘flower blossoms’ spouting falls overhead. Several different variations of water fountain settings entertain and delight children and adults alike. When activated, a touch sensor runs for 5 minutes and then turns off to conserve water; but the kids love to hit the on switch often on hot summer days.
This summer, the Valley Early Learning Center took a field trip to the park with 30 children flying off the bus to enjoy the day cooling off, playing basketball, games, and on fun rides and equipment.
Mayor Stefany Smith said, “We are incredibly happy to be able to offer a park of this nature and bring our community together. It is one of the nicest parks in Stevens County. Positive comments from enjoyable visits to the park have brought families from Spokane, Chewelah, Deer Park and Colville to our fun lots-to-do park, all made possible by the Troutman Bequest Fund.”
The park is available for a variety of events, including community events, family picnics, birthday parties, various groups; and even the local Vacation Bible School students recently all shared in the fun.
If you are planning an event at the park, it’s best to call ahead so they can ensure the grass is mowed and that the restrooms are well stocked. During the summer months the park is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Springdale Park is located at the Springdale Town Hall property, 206 N 2nd Street (Highway 231), Springdale, Washington.
