A record twelve taste providers have signed on for Chewelah Arts Guild’s Taste of Chewelah, scheduled for Thursday, September 12, the most since the event began in 2015. In addition to food bites, served from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m., the gala event will include live music (including crowd favorites) and art exhibits in the restaurants and at Trail’s End Gallery.
Newcomers to Taste, Andie’s Sandwich & Sports and Mistequa Hotel Casino Restaurant (both serving from Andie’s), join the Main Avenue line up: Salt Bistro, Monica’s Buttermilk Kitchen, Fired Up Pizza, Yale Press, Sportsman Bar and Grill, The Bread Box and Lola’s Good Eats. Also, not to be missed, is Westside Pizza, serving up samples just a block off Main on Park Street. Rusty Putter Bar & Grille will offer their bites at Quartzite Brewing along with another newcomer, 395 Coffee.
Participating taste providers have come up with an exciting menu, including everything from salads and soup to dessert and lots of delicious tidbits in between.
As usual, Taste of Chewelah will climax in what is becoming an eagerly anticipated silent art auction. Bids can be made from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with winners announced following the close of bidding. Donations are made by local artists and from Guild members’ personal collections – meaning bidders will have the opportunity to take home some great pieces of art.
Tickets to the event are $20 each and limited to 250. They are available at Valley Drug Co., Aker’s United Drug and online at chewelahartsguild.org. Children 9 and under can sample free of charge.
This year, event chair Diane Kinzler is cautioning ticket buyers to only buy tickets from the named outlets or a friend. “Unfortunately, we’ve learned that tickets ‘no longer able to be used’ were being offered last year by on-line sources who took people’s money, but did not deliver the tickets,” she explained.
Taste of Chewelah is Chewelah Arts Guild’s primary fundraiser and helps support other Guild-sponsored community events, including the Children’s Pavilion activities, music concerts, the quilt show, the community art show, and more.
